My dad was always my hero. Whether he was uniform or not. During his 27 years of service he was decorated with many honors and metals. Serving our country as the Command Sergeant Major to great leaders such as General Goodpaster and General Hague, with prestigious duties at NATO & Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE). I had the honor of writing his obituary when he died in 1994. He was a very humble man and it was at the time of this writing that I realized that he had received the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, & the World War II Victory Battle Award are just a few that Ill mention. He was later to rest at Arlington Cemetery with full honors along side many other fallen brethren.
