My dad was diagnosed the end of September with esophageal cancer - TopicsExpress

My dad was diagnosed the end of September with esophageal cancer that had metastasized to his sinuses and brain. Due to severe seizures he had brain surgery to remove the 3x3cm tumor on his brain. After recover, he had one round of radiation in November. Right after, he ended up in the hospital with pneumonia in both lungs. Chemo was postponed due to weakness and rapid weight loss.(50 pounds lost since diagnosis) He had a scan early in December while in the hospital that showed the cancer had spread to his liver. He briefly got better then was hospitalized on January 3rd with pneumonia in both lungs and has progressively got worse. He is now on hospice and is in so much pain. Please pray for his comfort. We lost our mother last July to lung cancer that spread to her lymph nodes. She actually passed 12 days after her diagnosis. Her quality of life had been terrible for years due to emphysema and CHF, but luckily she passed quickly and without the pains that cancer can bring. Dad on the other hand has been healthy. 10 days ago he was still fighting and working out on his Bowflex. Its terrible to watch him suffer knowing there is nothing I can do.
