My daddy may not be out among us BUT he works everyday- AND HE DOES NOT GET PAID- For the last 12 and 3/4 years, he has worked as head maintenance man over plumbing or air condition. As a plumber in a prison - the prisoners in lock up often stop their plumbing up as a means to get back at the prison system- they may do this with their uniform, undershirt, underwear, or whatever else they can find that will do this- many times when my daddy had walked into the lockdown Area which is often a big dorm shaped like a circle- he has had cups of old food- urine- and feces thrown at him. This says a lot about the man my daddy is- he is a 85%- he does not get good time for the work he does nor does he get paid. The 65%ers get paid and also gets time off their sentence- but my daddy does not- but he has not failed to miss a days work, unless he is sick- he has not failed to give his 100%, he has not failed to be one that the guards or wardens can call lazy OR unworthy. If it were me, I cannot sit here and say that I would get up at the crack of dawn each day and go to work- a job of nastiness, a job that I was not getting paid for, a job that I knew I really didnt have to go to, a job that I could really care less about - but my daddy does and that means a lot To me and it also teaches me alot about what the Bible says, about getting up each day and no matter what you are doing, do it as if you were working for The Lord and I truely, 100%, wholeheartedly believe that is what my daddy does because why else would he get up every morning and do a job that he dont have to do. There are thousands of inmates who do not have a job- because they choose not to- they sleep all day, watch tv, draw, play cards, etc..... But I am proud to say that even though my daddy dont have to- HE DOES- and THATS BECAUSE HES CHOSEN TO BE THE MAN THAT GOD WANTS HIM TO BE NO MATTER WHAT HIS SITUATION OR WHERE HES AT- AND FOR THIS I AM THANKFUL.
