My dates were with my Dad at Midges Kitchen. Every Sunday night - TopicsExpress

My dates were with my Dad at Midges Kitchen. Every Sunday night after church. Fresh tomato from his garden, or Bugles and dip, or any leftovers from the big and delicious spread my mom had prepared for our family of 5 for Sunday dinner. One date, there was no dip, so he tried to get me to pour Eelbeck syrup in a bugle and try it. I didnt but he said it was good since Bugles are made out of same part of corn as grits! I can see him sitting at grey formica topped table edged in aluminum. He had his white long sleeve dress shirt on with only top button unbuttoned. He had removed his tie and coat as soon as our family got home from church and put them away in my parents bedroom at 3915 Conrad Drive. Our phone # was Fa-22552. That was 1959. There was no TV to distract us. No ballgame on the radio for him yo listen to either. Not even a copy of the Columbus Ledger Enquier because it was SUNDAY night. Those were the days!.
