My daughter Jacinda had (in her words) one last hurrah last week with different friends that came from out of state. Shortly thereafter she visibly went downhill a bit. Her hospice nurse was here earlier today. Jacinda is still getting by on very small amounts of ginger ale (and not regularly receiving IV fluids as she had for many years). The swelling in her upper extremities from her heart not pumping blood properly has subsided from lack of fluid intake. She has a fever and a kidney infection. Several days ago she asked to be moved into my office/bedroom so we may be together all the time. Shes usually asleep and Im proofing a manuscript. When she is awake she continues to have the most uncomplaining, grateful spirit Ive ever witnessed in my life. Thank you for continued prayers. XOXO
