My daughter and I are having a discussion about what Robin - TopicsExpress

My daughter and I are having a discussion about what Robin Williams represented to the world and what qualifies as legendary when it comes to comedians. Names came to my mind like Eddie Murphy, Jerry Lewis, Don Rickles, Richard Pryor, Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Mel Brooks, Bill Cosby, Madeline Kahn, Bill Murray, Andy Kaufman, George Carlin, and Jim Carrey, to name a few. She suggested Adam Sandler, Russell Brand, and Betty White. I told her that Adam Sandler certainly doesnt qualify as a comedy legend, not in my book anyway. Hes fun to watch (sometimes), but in every single one of his movies hes the same exact character. Just some goofy, silly dude. Definitely not a genius by any stretch of the imagination. Now Russell Brand on the other hand is an intellect. But still not a legend. Its been too little time since the world has known him. Another one of her suggestions, Jack Black, in my opinion might be borderline. Can you think of some comedians/comediennes gone or with us today who you think might qualify for legend status.
