My daughter and I were riding south onthe bike path along alum - TopicsExpress

My daughter and I were riding south onthe bike path along alum Creek drive just South of main st, just past fine line auto body when we saw a dog run accross 4 lanes of busy traffic. The poor dog just made it and my daughter and I corralled it. It was a pit bull ,very friendly but with signs of abuse and neglect, mange, fleas, wounds and a collar so tight it caused sores. A long story made short, animal control was called andwe waited for them. While waiting two men came over from the small house, more like a shack that sits right on the edge of fine line auto body property, and took the dog just as the animal control officer came. They told us it was their dog. Then when they saw the officer they took off. But they put the dog in the house. The officer checked the house and told me it was horrible. Trash, cock roaches infestation and two other neglected dogs. The animal control officer took a report and agreed thatit was bad and very suspicious after the two men ran off. Lots of Bexley residents ride their bikes Right pass this eye sore and worse site of possible animal abuse as well as these neglected dogs getting free on the path. I hope franklin county animal control follows up. I also let the Bexley police know so they could pass on to Columbus authorities.
