My daughter and other students were not allowed to participate in - TopicsExpress

My daughter and other students were not allowed to participate in jump rope for heart today at school because they turned their money in a day late. While other students who turned their money in late were allowed to participate in the event. Her teacher called me and he was livid that Mrs. Spoonemore and Mr. Brooks the principle would not let some kids jump but others were allowed. I called Mr Brooks to ask why and he told me that it was a big undertaking to get everything organized to let the kids jump and if they turned in their money late that it was a headache. I told him it wasnt that hard to take an envelope and give the kids a jump rope, these kids raised money for the american heart association and the big picture was this is for charity not about a deadline and if he was letting some kids jump and not others that it was discrimination. He then said well we will take their money and give them their prizes but they cant jump. Are you kidding me? One of their prizes is a jump rope, let them jump. The message being sent to these children is wrong! He was very rude and refused to let these children jump. So I contacted channel six news, the american heart association, Indiana civil rights commission, the superintendent mr. king (no surprise that he didnt respond), the superintendent and superintendent of Indiana schools, the press relations of Indiana schools, the president of the american heart association. If anyone can think of who else i should contact please let me know. This is for charity and not some deadline. The principle made examples out of some kids and let others jump. This is wrong! Please feel free to call Pittsboro Elementary at 317 994 2000 if you agree that this is wrong and discrimination. Ask for mrs spoonemore the gym teacher who sent the kids away to watch a movie or Mr Brooks who wanted to take the kids money but not let them participate.
