My daughter needed to talk about a print ad in class. I told her to google David Abbott, in my mind the finest advertising copywriter. So sad to learn that he died a week ago. I worked at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO in the early 90s and when he spoke everyone listened. Quietly spoken and eloquent he had such a dignity about him and he famously laid none of his employees off when we hit recession. theguardian/media/2014/may/22/david-abbott
