My dear IGP, being prepared for any outcome is fire fighting. It is then too late! Preconditions to terrorism must be eliminated without discrimination and at all cost. Terrorists do not wake up one fine day and decide to blast the hell out of peace. Terrorists are not born, they are moulded by a societal system they see refuge to their crooked ideologies. There are sufficient preconditions to raise the alarm, beginning with increasing unemployment rate due to stagflation and influx of illegals. When people have no job, or economically displaced and are desperate, their minds and soul will wonder. A wondering soul is like a void between reality and hell where devils are waiting at the gate of transition. Soon, human nature to blame others and not themselves, they will start to hunt for scapegoats as the reason for their predicament. Very often they will resort to religious contentment. They begin to envy the cheers and joy of others who are better off, and they regard these as the devils that rob their life. Their voice begin to fill with racial hatred and slowly turn into verbal then physical provocations. Small distruptive acts, when ignored by the authorities are considered as implied encouragements that sow their bigger appetite of acts of terror. Inaction or silence by the authorites will be seen as an encouragement. There is no such thing as tolerance in dealing with extremists. It must be firm, swift and conclusive. Firm actions by the authorities must be taken to explicitly show an affirmative response against potential threat of terrorism. Otherwise, it is akin to harboring terrorism. A question we all beg, where do we stand now? Are the authorities doing the right thing with a vision of objectiveness and common sense?
