My dear you have lived a beautiful life. Yesterday I felt like something was missing, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on what. And now I see clearly, it wasn’t something but someone. You have moved on and are suffering no more. And yet even though the initial shock causes my emotions to flutter, I am met again instantly with a smile, and the laughter that accompanied our fun times together. There was stargazing and bonfires and wheelchairs and getting caught in the rain, paired with good wines, cheeses, and stories from our past. Now you’ll get to watch over all the gardens to keep them weed-free, and I’ll see your shooting star next time I’m gazing up into the night sky. Your life, what a heartwarming, sweet reminder, of how precious our time is, as well as the people we spend it with. My heart is not broken, it is overflowing with love.
