My dearest Kam, tomorrows dawn brings your 11th birthday. I remember being scared, excited and hopeful on a snowy December 12th morning, as your sister was only 18 months old and had already faced so many hardships in her little life. I dreamed big dreams for you, little darling, and for things to be easier for our little family as you brought us new joys and hopes. When you arrived, you were the most beautiful baby I had ever seen. As you got older, we would learn that you would experience your own challenges, and that our hearts had more room to ache. With that, though, we also learned that our hearts had more room to love and more, too, to celebrate. You march to your own music, and its beautiful, you give us so much laughter, you terrorize the house with broken crayons and legos, you eat a case of pudding in one sitting, and never once have we not enjoyed your chocolate mustache, you give the best serial hugs, you teach us that clothes dont always matter (and sometimes, yes, they sure do), and most of all, you give us eyes to see people differently. You are a whirlwind and fury of delight. You are so loved, little one. Thank you for 11 years of noseys and kisses.
