My decision to enter into the folds of politics was precipitated - TopicsExpress

My decision to enter into the folds of politics was precipitated by the glaring economic and social ills and difficulties that has enveloped my community. I believe firmly in Alinsky’s notion that ‘’real change requires politics’’ and to effect those changes I had to be in politics. The inhabitants of the Zongo community are largely the youth. They share values of self-respect hospitality, discipline and hard work. Growing up as a child, I witnessed the kind of abiding faith the Zongo community had in successive governments to fix pervasive problems of illiteracy and poverty. Our resilience in the face of difficulty, our discipline, our hospitality and generosity in the midst of scarcity defines our most cherished values - If there is a neighbor who can’t pay his rent, a reckless husband that beats up his wife, it is a collective concern and the solution becomes a shared responsibility and we have to dance to the tune of the moment. The greatest threat to Ghana’s democracy is not lack of accountability or transparency at the government level but illiteracy. Eliminating illiteracy is conterminous with an improvement in health care, sanitation, housing, income and patronage.-#Manaf Ibrahim #MyCandidate #MyMP2017 #IamForManaf2016.
