In looking at the chronology of events from 2000 up to 2008, what were the major events which occurred that caused the economy to begin in a gradual decline? 2. In 2008, as a rsult of discussions by many decision-makers, a bailout was approved and selected businesses were given a portion of the bailout money. Its purpose was to stimulate the sluggish economy but it did not. Explain the actions of businesses did that did not result in any expansion in the economy. 3. Explain why interest rates were lowered in 2000 and 2001 and why this did not stimulate the economy. 4. Crude oil prices were factors which impacted the domestic (U.S.) economy, explain what they did. 5. Speculate or project into the future the oil spill in 2010 and its effects on the economies of the States of Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama and Louisana.
