My ex beat up my boyfriend when told my child that hes her dad writes:: My current boyfriend told my child that hes her father now, which I didnt know. My toddler told my ex, her biological father. He also told his father that my bf hes been claiming to be her new dad. My ex-boyfriend was not happy. We co-parent my son well. Our split was amicable. He even moved a few blocks away so we can have equal time with my daughter. He came to my house and asked me why was I allowing this to happen? I told him I didnt know anything about it and that Ive always told my daughter that her father is him and that my boyfriends are her older friends. I told him I would handle it. I asked my boyfriend later about it and he said that he has been telling her to call him dad. I asked him why? He said because he is now. (Blank stare) I told him that my ex wasnt comfortable with that. He said, if he was going to be in my life, he saw himself as my daughters dad and wanted to be thought of as such. I really like him and like that hes thinking this way. When I reported this back to my ex-boyfriend he went insane and stormed round my house. He ordered our child to go to bed before he stood right up to my boyfriend and screamed at him. My boyfriend got right in his face and said, the only way youll get to your child is too kill me! My ex-boyfriend then started wildly punching him and they had a fight. My ex-boyfriend easily won and said, If you tell my child one more time youre her father then see whats coming to you! He left and my boyfriend called the police. The following morning he was asked report to the police station to be arrested. He did and is now out on bail for assault. He has to report to the station every 2 days and can not contact me, his child or my boyfriend till after the court trial which is in about 4 weeks. I feel terrible. I want to ask my boyfriend to drop the charges but Im afraid that will ruin our relationship b/c hell think Im choosing my exs side. I want to take my daughter to visit her dad but again I know my bf will feel like Im betraying him. What would you do? Thoughts?
