My facebook friends know I dont usually post, but I just have to post this. I was so proud of my niece last night. Alyssa was playing in a conference basketball game. She is such an awesome player. She gives all she has during the time she is on the court. She will go to the floor after a loose ball, aggressively rebound, and get after you on defense. (I guess it comes from years of playing with older brothers ..lol) Last night, we were winning by about thirty points. In the last few seconds of the game, she got a defensive rebound and threw the ball to a player on the other team who had just come in the game. (It is my guess that this particular little girl probably doesnt get alot of playing time and was only in the game because it was for all purposes, lost.) The little girl was probably about four years younger than Alyssa and by far the smallest player on the floor. She caught the pass from Alyssa, who was only a few steps away, and shot the ball and scored as the buzzer sounded. You should have seen the look on that childs face! Priceless! As I say, I dont usually post, but I am so proud of what was revealed about Alyssas heart. A true competitor giving her all to win---- yet realizing that the competition should be respected. Love ya girl!
