My faith in humanity and compassion has been boosted today. I work on a volunteer basis for our borough Foodbank. We are cooking a Christmas meal for all our clients on the 27th. A full Christmas meal. I have In the last 10 days, peeled, par boiled and frozen about 45Ibs of potatoes. Lol parsnips are next. The amount of donations from members of the public has been astonishing, with both donations of food and money and has been truly humbling. It is so wonderful to meet people who are prepared to help those who are not as fortunate as themselves. People have just walked in off the street and given money and food. Stuff also comes from all the churches in our area. Many supermarkets, like Morrisons and Iceland also have trollies where he general, public can donate too. So a big thankyou to,them. Also to supermarkets like Sainsburys who donate carrier bags, much needed. Even Christmas goodies have been donated, like boxes of biscuits and Christmas puddings and lots of treats to give put to people. It restores faith in that there are others who are prepared to think of those who need help. Very satisfying and humbling. Thankyou people of Bexley. You are wonderful!!!!
