My families Hero.... Still remember like it was yesterday, this tall gentle , kind, nice looking Heart Surgeon wringing his hands starting down the long hallway to meet with us and tell us how our Dear Mother did in Mitral Valve surgery ( very scary, not done much back then 1967) Mom was only 51... She went on to have 2 additional valve surgeries with the last one in 1978, when having 3 valves replaced ( almost never heard of) , prognosis was a few years.... After almost 4 months in the Hospital and a long hard road to recovery, Mom lived 17 years.... Thanks to this Brilliant Surgeon , wonderful team and AGH.... Her first surgery was performed @ Presby, Dr. McGovern was there at the time, then to AGH.. Thank you God and Dr. George Magovern for helping to keep this Gentle Women with us longer than we expected.... Of course shorter than we would have wished for... Never enough time .. RIP DR. MAGOVERN give my Mom a hug please ❤️
