My fanfic! Hope you like it! ~ChemicalKiller Chapter one: Katherine had never really been one to fit in, in fact, she was a complete social outcast. She had never fit in much, at all; she was always called weird or emo or loner... But that never bothered her as long as she had her music and art. They were the only things that mattered to Katherine, the only ways she could express herself without being made fun of or possibly beat up. Katherine would mostly isolate herself and listen to her favourite bands. Okay, this is why Katherine was considered emo; her favourite bands were Black Veil Brides, Sleeping With Sirens, Peirce The Veil, Suicide Silence, Bring Me The Horizon, Asking Alexandria, Panic! At The Disco and Fall Out Boy. However, her ultimate favourite band was definitely My Chemical Romance. She knew everything about them and worshipped each and every one of them. Katherine adored Ray, with his bouncy afro, the bands awesome guitarist, she got giddy when she saw Bob, the bands skilled drummer, she nearly swooned when she saw Frank and all of his tattoos, another amazing guitarist for the band, she shrieked every time she layed eyes on Mikey and his cute concentration-face, the bands extremely talented bass guitarist, and then there was Gerard. Gerard, the bands vocalist; amazing Gerard, with his gorgeous, deep hazel eyes, his really cute nose and small, perfect teeth. His hair changed constantly, right now, it was red. Not ginger-red, but red, like a ripe strawberry. Katherine loved Gerard, and would spend hours every day listening to his fantastic voice; she did every morning before school, like she was now. She had exactly a minute and twenty seconds left of one of their great songs, then it would be time for another rubbish day in school. All fall down, well after all... Katherine sang quietly with Gerard. Not long now and I can see you in concert! She squealed. Yep, thats right, she had scored tickets to see My Chemical Romance in concert. She tried to get backstage passes, too, but they sold out before she could. Katherine! Her mum called up the stairs. Katherine sighed and ripped her earphones out and sat up. Do I have to go? Katherine yelled back. Yes! Her mum shouted. Katherine groaned and got up, pushing aside her knotted, red hair and sighed happily. Yes, red hair. Yes, Katherine had died her hair the exact same shade of red as Gerards, like always. Katherine grabbed her I-pod from her bed and rushed over to the speakers in her bedroom. Pushing the small device onto the stand, she flicked through artists until she found My Chemical Romance. Katherine then pressed shuffle and instantly recognized the drum and guitar intro: SING. She started to sing along as she rummaged through her wardrobe. The chorus kicked in and Katherine started to sing at full pelt. Sing it for the boys! Sing it for the girls! Every time that you lose it sing it for the world! Sing it from the heart! Sing it till youre nuts! Sing it out, for the ones thatll hate your guts! Katherine twirled around once she had picked the outfit she was going to wear: ripped, black skinny jeans, and her favourite My Chemical Romance T-shirt. She danced around her bedroom for the rest of the song and brushed her hair. A sudden smell hit her nose as the song finished. Coffee. Katherine paused her I-pod and ran downstairs. Is that coffee? She asked. Sure enough, her older brother, Dan, was sat on the sofa with a steaming mug of coffee. So were her parents, all watching television. Katherine saw her brother chuckle and her father begin to grin. Dan, being the annoying older brother he was, waved his coffee in front of her face saying, yes, but we didnt have enough for you! He laughed. Really? Katherine gasped, you monsters! She yelled and dropped to the floor. She whined and rolled around in circles, genuinely looking like someone that belonged in a mental institute rather than a regular family home, until her dad gave in. Here! Take mine! He groaned, Ill get one from Costa later. Cheerfully, Katherine shot up and bounced over to her father. He handed over the cup and sighed. I love you, daddy, Katherine said in a sing-song tone. Go get ready, he said as he gently kicked the back of her leg. She jogged back up to her bedroom and continued to sing along with Gerard. Katherine took a sip from her hot coffee... Gerard loved coffee, too, they had so much in common. Time flew by and before long, Katherine was being pushed out of the door with Dan following behind. The morning was cold, and Katherine could see her breath every time she exhaled. Just a typical winter morning in New Jersey... Where the whole of My Chemical Romance lived. In her whole six years of of living there - she moved from Wales when she was only fourteen. Yes, Katherine was twenty and still fantasized over rock stars. And technically, she didnt go to school, she went to college and studied art and music - she had never seen anyone in the band or anyone connected to them. Dan had dropped out of college and had a full-time job at Costa; so, naturally, Katherine would go and annoy him after school. Am I dropping you off today? Dan asked her, pulling his keys from his pocket. Uh, yeah, sure. Im cold, Katherine admitted. Dan popped his car and climbed in the drivers side. Katherine soon followed and turned on the radio. She flicked through the channels until she came across a Black Veil Brides song: In The End. Being Katherine, lacking any low self esteem around her family, she started to sing really loudly, smiling as she saw Dan nodding his head and mouthing the words of the chorus. Too soon, Katherine had to say goodbye to Dan and enter the hell-hole known as college. As soon as Dan drove away, Katherine heard the usual singgers and giggles. It was probably about her hair - she had only dyed it recently, only a day after Gerard had dyed his. Popular people always found ways to pick on her, or something to talk about behind her back. Katherine attempted to ignore everyone and rushed to the opposite side if campus to art. She arrived a few minutes early and was let in to gather art supplies by her teacher, Mrs. Walker. Katherine collected her things - paint brushes, acrylics and water colours, a canvas and an easel - and made her way to her usual seat in the classroom. She sat at the back on her own, in her own peaceful corner. Like any other classroom, there was stains on the floor and walls and gum on probably every seat, but Katherine didnt care. By the time the other kids had filed into the classroom, Katherine had already sketched out her drawing and was squeezing paints into a palette. Mrs. Walker always allowed Katherine to paint whatever she wanted because she was such a delight to teach, to put it in her words. Katherine kept glancing at the other students as they sat down: the jocks sat at one table, all hoping for an easy A; the cheerleaders that only took art to be near the jocks; the nerds that were alright at art, but only talked about dungeons and dragons; and then there was Gerard. No, not Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance, no where near him. Gerard was a tall boy, with long black hair with a fringe that was constantly in his face, brown eyes and a great smile. He was really similar to Katherine in the way that he loved music and art, too, he was also considered weird and strange and he was also a complete social outcast. Katherine gasped and snapped her head back to her canvas as she realized she had been staring at Gerard. It wasnt that Gerard wasnt good looking, he just wasnt her Gerard. She heard him chuckle and shook her head, dipping her slim paint brush into the red. Katherine gently put her brush to the canvas and began to paint her sketches, barely listening as Mrs. Walker spoke to the class about their next project. As she was finishing her painting and Mrs. Walker stopped taking, there came a sudden rush of squeaky chairs and shoes shuffling along the floor. Katherine sighed, satisfied with her art work. She jumped as someone tapped her on the shoulder. No one ever bothered her during art class - no ever bothered her, period. She was surprised but pleasantly happy when she saw it was Gerard that had come to see her. Oh, hi, she muttered quietly. Hey, he smiled, that looks great! He complimented. Katherine had - quite skilfully - painted a collage of all the places she wanted to go and visit some day. She had included New York, a night skyline and crowded streets, London, the London Eye and Big Ben, Sydney, surfing and the Sydney Opera House, and China, busy high streets and the Great Wall of China, all correctly coloured and really realistic. Thanks, she mumbled. Katherine had never really taken compliments well, so she really wasnt sure how to take a compliment from someone she had never spoke to before. No, seriously. Ive been to every single one of these places, and they all look exactly like that, Gerard said genuinely. Well, he corrected, taking the brush from her and altering a line on the Sydney Opera House, now, they look the same. Katherine smiled slightly as he handed her back the brush. There was a long pause as Gerard just stood and rocked on his heels. You dont have to stand and watch, Katherine said eventually. I know, I just... Never mind, Gerard said, starting to walk in the opposite direction. No, wait, Katherine stopped him, what were you going to say, Gerard? Do you... Would you like to have lunch with me today? He asked. There won t be anyone else, just you and I, but its not like a date or anything, Gerard rambled on. Katherine froze as she though this through: it was just lunch, nothing special, just lunch with Gerard. He was nice, friendly, seemed easy to get along with, he was cute, he was... Waiting for an answer, she remembered suddenly. Sure, she said, Id love to.
