My father-in law has decided that he wants to get into homebrewing, and he is dead set on brewing a Deschutes Abyss clone as his first brew. We are going to be building and acquiring his kit at the same time (over Christmas). Does anyone have any advice (as to recipe, equipment, anything) I think this beer is beyond my abilities, but this is his favorite beer... and that is that. We should have good access to homebrew shops as he lives in Portland or. :)
