My father was a WWII Veteran. He didnt serve in combat. He served trying to unravel the mangled psyches of those who did. Like them, he carried those horrible thoughts with him for the rest of his life. The thing I learned from him is that the price of freedom isnt death or traumatic physical and mental injuries from war. The price of freedom is tolerance. That is a price very few are willing to pay. Instead they throw young people into wars of imperialist adventurism so the ruling class can continue to exploit countries, their people and their assets, and then propagandize the honor of it all. Today I honor Armistice Day. A day reflecting on the end of war.
