My favorite Valentines day with the man I love.... money was tight - TopicsExpress

My favorite Valentines day with the man I love.... money was tight as I we out of work cute to lots of health problems. We discussed this and decided not to exchange gifts, but he wanted to cook me a special dinner....mind you, this man does not cook unless its microwaveable! I laid out a whole chicken, he was going to put it on our gas grill since it has an electric rotisserie, wrapped baked potatoes and put them in the oven, and make a big salad... sounded yummy. He drew me a bubble bath, lit some aromatherapy candles and told me to take a long relaxing bath, as he knew how stressed out I was. So I went in to enjoy my bath as he went to work on our dinner. When I emerged from such bath in my pjs, robe, and slippers I seen him on our porch where our grill is and I also saw a spinning, flaming, black chicken! Bless his heart, instead of turning on the back rotisserie burner, he had turned on the bottom burners and obviously when it got and the fat dripped down, it set the bird on fire! (he didnt even put any drip pans down)... we smothered the fire out while laughing hysterically and took the poor black chicken inside. I pulled the black skin off this pitiful bird and put it in the oven to cook along side the potatoes. I sauced it as best I could and we called it blackened chicken...actually it turned out pretty good considering ;-) and we dined by candles light and enjoyed a bottle of home made muscadine wine made from the ones we grow (Kate was gone spending the night with a friend) afterwards we moved the coffee table over to one wall, just like mama and daddy used to do, turned on some romantic music and we danced most of the evening away as he held me tightly, and told me how much he loved and appreciated me and everything else that I needed to hear on that day. Im not going to elaborate on our love making that night, mostly because Im a freak and yall dont need to know that... lol (oops, did I just say that out loud? Just kidding yall, all in fun) but it was perfect! We laughed, I cried, as we talked about our lives and how much better they both are since we found each other. Material things mean nothing compared to love... it doesnt cost a dime to be kind and loving and show and tell each other other how you feel. I didnt get any fancy presents, but I got something better... I got a good man who lives me with all his heart, as I do him and he shows me and tells me this every day. He also treats my daughter like she is his own.. .and thats something you cant buy with all the money in the world! That was our first Valentines day together, and its the best one Ive ever had, by far. I am not rich with money, but I am very rich with the love of my sweetie, and Im blessed to have him and forever thankful! Happy valentines day everyone :-)
