My featured artist for Monday 19th is Alexander Osipov. Painter. Member of the Union of Artists. Born in 1892 , art education in St. Petersburg. After graduating from college in 1915 , he enrolled at the Academy of Arts , where he studied under professors G.Zaleman , A.Makovskiy and I.Tvorozhnikova . His drawings 20s differ a great deal in skill and brevity , sharpness, and polished touch. This can be judged by his first exhibitions 1926-1928 gg. Arranged by the association Istra ( Art - workers ) . On the serious successes in painting portraits testify 30s . Portrait M.S.Osipovoy ( 1935 ) differs. It is a confident , strong figure with large scenic qualities . In 1939 Osipov was admitted to the Moscow Union of Artists . Giving most of the time teaching activities (1920-1945 gg.) , He also worked as an artist - correspondent of Komsomolskaya Pravda and other newspapers , has been the poster , book design and illustration of the various editions. After 1960 Osipov lived and successfully worked in creative dachas on location - in Transcarpathia , Ukraine, Crimea, the Caucasus - creating an interesting series of sketches.
