My fellow GS employees, I need your advise! My old Secretary for the Commanding General job is currently vacant. Should I apply or not? I am a GS11 and its an 8...three grades down, but such a nice gig and just around the corner from our new house. I know if I take myself down to 8 the last 4 years climbing the GS ladder will be down the drain, however the pay should not change, right? They should still pay me me as much as I was making in my old position? Or should I just take a dip breath and wait for something within my range?
