My first glance out the window this morning had me counting heads - TopicsExpress

My first glance out the window this morning had me counting heads and then laughing at the first sight I witnessed. Scarlet had stretched out in some hay in order to soak up some of the suns warmth after a cold night. She had been relaxing and enjoying a little down time when Dasher decided she needed liven things up a little. He pulled and tugged on her mane until she woke up enough to fight back with him ... which she did. Dasher is one funny little guy and his games keep things lively in the pasture. Once Scarlet had enough, he moved on to his uncle Gus as they ran through the woods skipping and bucking. Watching Gus run as he balances that big head of his has me laughing before coffee. Rumour and Annie need some girl time to remove the dreadlocks from their hair, Jackson resembles an orange creamsicle and everyone is caked in mud. I plan to have a good spa day with bush and hoof pick in hand tomorrow. The temps are said to be dropping to the lowest of double digits by Wednesday so I will be bringing in another truck load of bedding to keep all the stalls in good shape and our new rolls of hay will be here in order to keep all the babies warm on the inside. I will be checking in on the new girls, Zipper and Mercy and taking anything they may be in need of ... and thankfully they are thriving. We already have several people asking about giving them a forever home ... SO HAPPY these two came into our lives. Watching them flourish is a sweet spot in our days. Keep warm friends and prepare for the cold coming our way. Time to hook up the water heaters again and dream of spring.
