My first thought upon waking this Christmas morning was not upon - TopicsExpress

My first thought upon waking this Christmas morning was not upon family, gifts, or even a relaxing day of not working. I thought of those who may be alone today for whatever reason, and how many suffer from alienation in any form. Yesterday I placed an unsigned card with a handwritten prayer on the door of a neighbor I assume had nowhere to go; if only just to let them know, or sense, theyre being thought of. After all, maybe that is enough encouragement for their heart to come alive and to help them keep going on during this beautiful and fragile time of year? This means something to me personally because many of you dont know how severe my battles with depression were, and how grateful I am The Lord has caused my heart to emerge and put my thoughts at ease. I had hope but many may not be aware that they are important to others and more so, God thinks theyre important! So my challenge to you is to contemplate a person you know, or meet, that just might need something beneath the courtesy of the holiday. And simply be open to offer someone the gift of a warm heart. You can never go wrong when people know they are cared about. So be blessed today, but before we get too immersed in self concerns, please think of the fatherless, the widow, the orphan, the isolated and the unseen. They desire Christmas too.
