My fourth 1/1000 Excelsior Class kit arrived today. Found on eBay for a mere $7.50 by Scott Trusty for me so WTH? I have the original AMT 1/1000 Excelsior which will be built with a much more accurate bridge, dorsal (neck) and lower saucer thanks to an accurizing replacement kit found at Starship Modeler. I also have the Round2 Enterprise-B whose lower saucer is fine but I felt could also use an improved dorsal which is the same as in the Excelsior kit sold separately. Theyre beefier and better looking dorsals than come with those kits as well as being more screen accurate. My third 1/1000 Excelsior Class kit was just like this original issue AMT Excelsior Class refit Enterprise-B but has had its secondary hull given to Ron Freeze and had other parts contributed to it from both him and Scott Trusty as well as custom decals purchased from JT-Graphics in order to make a kitbash USS Centaur. This fourth and latest 1/1000 Excelsior Class will also have its dorsal replaced but with the later Ingram style shorter neck seen in later TNG and DS9 era Excelsior Class refits as this ship is destined to become the USS Lakota from DS9. All ships will be built besides using JT-Graphics decals but also using specific Acreation Models aztec decals. All ships remain to be built yet but youll be seeing them by early 2015. The Excelsior and the Enterprise-B will be sent to Scott Trusty fir lighting and have additional parts from DLM and Federation Models meant for lighting replacing some of their included parts. I will be building the Centaur and the Lakota without lighting.
