My friend Jake Kensinger lost his battle to ALS Monday night. During the last few months of his life I was privileged to be able to spend some quality time with Jake, and on leisurely trips through NH or drinking tea on his patio, listen to him relate his stories, recount his blessings. I wrote this song just a few days before he died and wasnt able to sing it for him. But I think he will forgive my taking this liberty - In the words of Kris Delmhorst, I hope that you wont rest in peace, cause that would bore you right to tears. Farewell friend.
