My friend, Jamie Jamey Witmer Lambert mentioned today that she was surprised that someone was putting on eyeliner on a dog. I recall one time mentioning to a sweet lady about what a lovely color was her apricot poodle, to which she responded, Yes...Didnt it come out good this week?. Then there was the time when I tried to get a topknot to be pulled back, and after it was clear that I was not speaking the language of the handler, started to go over to do it myself, at which point the photographer next to me told me, Dont do it -- it will come off in your hand. How about the husband and wife handlers whose both faces went white when I suggested that there was something about their Beardies withers color that was not being properly captured with shots done with a flash -- the next week they changed the dye they were using and it was no longer a problem. Oh, yes....We know...Those of us who see life at the 8000ths of a second -- we see it all; and we respect your privacy, but it still makes us smile.
