My friend Jim McFadyen gave me the number 7. 1. I am a Florida native, born in St. Petersburg, raised in Seminole and played on the beaches as a teen. 2. I was in the girl scouts for a long time and learned to skate, cook, sew, swim, camp, dig a latrine, make a campfire, and wash my mess kit in a stream with sand. I earned a lot of badges . 3. I wanted to be an archeologist when I was eight years old. 4. I was a Certified Dental Assistant before I became a Registered Nurse but my favorite job was as a cocktail waitress at The Crown Hotel. 5. I have camped from Florida to Maine a couple of times, my Moms family is in Maine and my Dad built a cabin on Streaked Mountain in Maine just like the one he built in Inverness, FL. 6. I lived in that fishing cabin on the river with my son for a couple of years. We chopped and split wood. We chopped down our own Christmas tree. We canoed on the Withlacoochee River with our dog Lady Bo and I read Ernest Hemmingway stories to my son Christopher...oh we had a 6inch TV that didnt work half the time we had no phone, no Air Conditioning, no car half the time, but we did have the woods and the river. 7. I helped refurbish an old Boston Whaler with a boyfriend on No Name Key. I still dream about that time period in my life a lot.
