My friend Jo is tracing our Aguirre-Koch family history and found - TopicsExpress

My friend Jo is tracing our Aguirre-Koch family history and found this song based on a coal mining disaster in 1947 where my great Uncle Joe Koch lost his life. Woody Guthrie wrote a song based on notes left to loved ones. Im not sure of the whole story yet... just bits and pieces. My parents had moved to Arizona after marrying Jan. 26, 1946 as Dad went into Aerospace work as an expediter. I will always love that word. If you dont expedite the process, encouraging your co-workers, nothing will get done on time it seems Dad would look at this little girl wondering why he was so tired after working all day. ;-) just see this doesnt happen again... We guess we havent done our job yet, Uncle Joe. Now I know why Dad quit the mines and moved to Arizona. Funny how destiny rolls us along... Now I may truly understand my passion for music and getting the word out there. Thanks to Jo Indian Ways Joyce Salway Dunlap for finding this out... and Scott her husband whos doing this with her. ;-) Centralia Coal Mine No 5 Disaster March 25, 1947 at 3:26 PM 111 Coal Miners Killed Music: Dying Miner written by Woody Guthrie which is tribute to those affected by the Centralia Coal Mine Disaster. THIS DISASTER CAN NEVER BE FORGOTTEN! Video is In Memory to those families affected by the Disaster - but is dedicated to Pete & Josie Ballantini. The video accompanied a 7th Grade History Fair Presentation exhibit on the Centralia Coal Mine No. 5. I would like to thank everyone that I interviewed and that took the time to help me with ALL my research on this project.
