My friend Leighton worked with a media company in Kingston, so complimentary tickets to major productions was something we enjoyed;-) Our journeys back to Mandeville took us through Spanish Town since we had drop Leighton home in a very notorious area off the main. My wife (girl friend at the time) sat up front while Leighton had the entire back seat to himself (as usual, locked into his headphone) We completed Mandela Highway and were now approaching the roundabout at Central Village when suddenly the SUV we were traveling behind just ran off the road into the bushes! With reflex action I slowed down then stopped, watching the brake lights flickering through the dark bushes. Keep driving! Simones voice startled me Its midnight and this is not a safe area. But of-course stubborn me and my heroic instinct to help, kept my foot on the brake. Calm down, I just want to see if everyones ok!... Oh shux! Leighton shouted Bella drive!!!! My heart jumped through my mouth as a well dressed man burst through the bushes from the crashed vehicle, covered with blood, clutching what looked like a 12inch kitchen knife! I pressed the pedal but the car just stood there (so scared, my foot was stuck on the brake pedal!) Blood smeared my wifes window as his hand grabbed for the door! Oh lord, what is this!!! I finally found the right pedal and sped off! Now, lets back track... A few minutes before the incident, my wife wound her window up to answer a cell phone call (at midnight!!!!) We are still not sure what happened that night in the bushes but we are sure that God came through for us.
