My friend Vahán Nanumyan will be giving a public lecture this Friday (17:00) at AUA entitled: Network Science: From Corporate Control to Malicious Facebook “Friends” Here are some details: An introduction to complex networks: types and characteristics such as their structure, measures and dynamics. Case studies of corporate control network, inferred from ownership data and ones friends network on Facebook (reproducible - make your own at home). About the Speaker Vahan Nanumyan received his Bachelors degree in Physics from Yerevan State University in 2010. Afterwards he started Masters program in Physics in Zurich, from which he graduated in May 2014. During the studies he performed research and have been a student assistant at the Chair of Systems Design. He will take a PhD position at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in September 2014 and will work on Statistical Physics of Complex Systems with a strong stress on data-driven modeling of socio-technical systems.
