My friend & fellow trainer Melissa Knox alerted me to this fascinating research on the genetic basis of behavior - https://vgl.ucdavis.edu/services/BelgianMalinois.php As a breeder and a trainer, I hope that research like this continues across many breeds and for many aspects of behavior. Being able to breed with true selection for the traits we want or dont want is key to producing animals who are healthy, not just physically but also mentally & emotionally.
