My friend picked me up and took me to a meeting. Goodness I really needed that!!! Just because I am in recovery does not make me exempt from life happening. Shit happens that is just that way it is. Whether I am clean and sober or not life will happen. Its just being clean and sober that makes it bearable for me. Someone shared this If life knocks your ass off you pick your ass up and you bring it to a meeting!!! Being in recovery means I do not get to drink or use to escape the pain of life. With every struggle I overcome God uses it to mold me into what He wants me to be. Its painful lately but you know what it felt good to speak up at that meeting and let it all out. Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn it that was amazing. Thank you God for helping me pick up my ass today and for not using any excuses to pick up and use. So I have no car big deal its a material possession it can be replaced. My sobriety is priceless. I have invested in myself and I am worth more then giving up on myself when things do not go my way. I really need to get into a life group at Cornerstone Fellowship I will take the bus if I have to better yet I can ride my bike
