My friends, what happened today in France was a tragedy and a direct attack on free speech. I want to voice my opinions about this, and relate to what the MSM is saying about the attack. First yes, the cartoons were very offensive and I would never condone bashing someones religious prophet in such a light. I am as offended by the cartoon as when people make fun of my faith, Christianity. It was intended to be incredibly offensive, but I believe everyone is entitled to their freedom of speech no matter where they may live. Contrary to the progressive narrative that this was, in fact a Radical-Wahhabi attack in which people were killed for expressing their freedoms. Contrary to the neoconservative narrative, these actions of these lone wolf terrorists DO NOT represent the feeling of real Muslims (including the ones I have got to know very well and befriended). This is not a Muslim attack. It is an attack conducted by radical Muslims belonging to a very violent and radical sect of the faith of Islam. This attack inspires me to reach out to more real Muslims who oppose extremism no matter where it occurs, or in which way it is conducted. This was a real terrorist attack, but real Muslims are the ones truly fighting Wahhabi extremism. These terrorists are the same type of terrorists that are being funded by the West (AQ, ISIL, Muslim Brotherhood, etc). Who is really fighting these terrorists on the front lines? It is the SAA and the Iraqi army (which include both Muslims and Christians). It is Hezbollah, an exclusively Muslim group which publicly renounces and physically fight (and kill) these extremist scum. There is a real war on terror. It is tangible and bloody. But let us not forget that the people who are fighting terrorism are, themselves, Muslims. Let us: Christians, Muslims, and all moderate/secular people of the world publicly renounce these terrible acts. This will not halt my love for the 99% of moderate, nonviolent, and rational Muslim people who have fought to the death to stop terrorism. I love my Muslim friends, and although I know these cartoons offended your prophet, you are smart and wise and strong and you do not condone terrorism, but rather, you fight it tooth and nail. I salute you my brothers and sisters. - Ben Manchevsky
