My grandfather, Orlyn Schuette, passed away earlier today. He was my hero, a WWII Prisoner of War, and one of the greatest people I have ever known. He passed exactly 70 years to the day after his B-17 Lukes Tampa Bell was shot down during the last bombing raid over Ploesti, Romania. He was captured and interrogated, then escaped and eventually returned to friendly territory. One of my most memorable accomplishments was getting the POW medal awarded to him over 15 years ago -- a small recognition of the service and sacrifice he gave for our freedom. I miss you already Grandpa. May you rest in peace and enjoy being reunited with Grandma in Heaven. Love You!
