My grandma was talking about her wedding on the phone this morning, and she reminded me of her favorite picture from that day, and I wish I had a copy of it, because it really is the absolutely perfect visual representation of love. She was 17 and he was 23, and she was wearing this precious mod wedding dress that made her look like a little bell, and these rhinestone studded cateye glasses, and just the biggest pile of bright red hair youve ever seen, and my grandpa was in this suit that was a little too short so you could see his blue socks, and his glasses were so thick you can barely see his eyes, and hes just smiling ear to ear. Shes only 5 feet tall, and hes 61, so for them to be in the same shot, he picked her up, and theyre just staring at each other, with these huge dumb smiles on their faces, and grandmas tiny hands wrapped around the flowers and holding onto dear life. Theyve been together ever since. How am I supposed to live up to that??
