My heart feels like it weighs a thousand pounds this morning. Yesterday was a hard day for everyone who knew and loved Terry Broadwater. He was so full of life and the love of God that the last thing we expected to hear was that he had gone to be with Jesus. Terrys tragic death is the definition of untimely. We were not ready to say goodbye to him. We had so much we wanted to do together. Terry dreamed big about everything he touched. Planting one church was not enough- Terry planted a network of churches. Sending money to missions was not enough- Terry felt compelled to directly participate in missions. He was a friend who went the extra mile. Just a few months ago, when Cherri and I were considering this step of faith called Urban Islands Project, Terry was a strong voice of affirmation in our lives and let us know that not only did he believe in the concept, but that he would stand with us through thick and thin. He followed through on that commitment with his words and deeds. He agreed to serve on the Urban Islands Project board of directors and encouraged Grace Community Church to become one of our first financial supporters. He leaves behind a huge hole in every direction. Cherri and I are praying for Jo Ann and the kids as they walk through the process of grieving their indescribable loss.
