My hearts on fire for you... Even though Im not crazy about romantic stuff, this song kills me. I think saying, My hearts ON FIRE for you... is one of the best ways to say I love you...ever...so today, Im sharing this song with you. Its an English musician called Passenger. Besides, I also have an English lesson for you. Check out these LYRICS (words) from the song: Well I dont have MANY, and I dont have MUCH, in fact, I dont have any, but I got enough, because I know those eyes, and I know that touch, Oh darling, my hearts on fire for you... He means: I have nothing, but its OK, because I got to be with you. Pretty romantic, eh? How are you supposed to use MANY and MUCH? Well, both of them are Quantifiers (words that tell the amount or number of something). However,... ==MANY is used only for Plural Count Nouns; for example: How many more MINUTES do you need for your test? There are too many PEOPLE here. You have so many FRIENDS! I got so many COMMENTS on this post I made! **Yes, PEOPLE is a Count Noun even though it has no Plural -s! One PERSON; two, three, or more PEOPLE! ==MUCH is used for Non-Count Nouns, which never have a Plural -s; for instance: How much more TIME__ do you need for your test? Canada gets too much SNOW__ in the winter! Oh! I ate too much FOOD__! Theres so much TRAFFIC__ in my city! That new dress costs so much MONEY__. **Yes, MONEY is a Non-Count Noun; that means we never say, I have twenty-five MONEYS. We do say, I have twenty-five DOLLARS. Finally, MUCH is usually only used with another quantifier in front of it, such as TOO or SO, or with a Negative, like DONT or NOT. That means... DONT say: Hes rich. He has MUCH money. SAY: Hes rich. He has A LOT OF MONEY. He has SO MUCH money. or...SAY: Hes poor. He DOESNT HAVE much money. He doesnt have A LOT OF money. Thanks for reading :) I hope you enjoyed the song and the lesson.
