My hike this weekend is still up in the air about which day. If I hike on Saturday, an early rain would delay my start time and give me less time on the trail before sunset. However, it would be warm enough that I wouldnt have to be moving as much to stay warm and could have more time to take pictures & write. If I hike on Sunday, the temperatures will be much colder and will have to keep walking almost constantly to stay warm. But either way, I will be hiking. I already have a donation/sponsorship for my hike to help Steve (my nephew) and his Dad (my brother). My nice co-worker has sponsored me up front and so far we have raised $50 to help Steve out on his bike tour to help his dad who we hope is cancer-free. He still has to go in for check-ups in Houston, TX, to make sure he is clear and he needs help for trips and medical expenses. Ive been reading about Steves tours before my brother got cancer and Im learning how great his needs are on a bike tour. Fortunately, he has been blessed with many supporters along the way but there are also times when he has to buy food or put up for a motel or campsite. After I talk with Steve in person next Friday, I will have a better idea of how to manage a fundraiser for him and his tour for my brother but for now, I would appreciate any donations through sponsoring my hike this weekend. Any cash donations from locals this week and next will go directly to Steve when I see him on the Friday after Thanksgiving. We are honored to be his host as he continues his bike tour Bike Tour Deux Life: 3333 Miles All Over Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee & Arkansas, 1011-New Years Eve, 2013.
