My home improvers worked heroically today. They finished the sill of the house repair, dug footers and set concrete Sono-tubes to support the small deck at the back stairs. Constructed the framing structure of the deck and attached it to the house, supporting it temporarily until the true concrete supports set up. Again cleaned up their work area meticulously, wrapped the concrete in insulation, covered everything over with plastic to provide a buffered environment, and to protect from the forecast first winter storm of the season to arrive in the night and in tomorrows commute. Potentially up to 4 of snow!! NOOOOOO!! too soon!! These guys are just the most pleasant workmen to have around the place, efficient, industrious, listening to their minimal pleasant conversation, they are well spoken and intelligent and speak respectfully to one another and conduct themselves as gentlemen at all times. I absolutely am so pleased with everything so far, and I expect after 2 days of complete satisfaction, to go on to completion as we have already begun. And believe me, this deck will not be collapsing under the weight of snow off the roof.
