My honest opinion so far: Like last year, the series is 1-1. The fundamental though is the play of Lebron. While Kawhi has gotten in foul trouble early, limiting his defense on Lebron, even when in, hes not effective like last year. Although there are still crucial stretches where the calls against him just make you shake your head at the refs. Lebron has OWNED the third quarters in both games. Last year, he really wasnt impressive until game 7. This game was actually like his game seven last year. Im going to say it straight up. The Spurs got lucky Lebron cramped up last game, because he is the guy bailing them out this year in the Finals and Miami was like night and day when he went out. So far, there is no Ray Allen bailing him out or Mike Miller pulling up for like 5 threes a game in stretches to just put the game away. Its the exact opposite. Im not sure why Pop has chosen a different strategy to guard Lebron than last year, going over the screens. But to me, and I hate to say it, it doesnt look good to me for the Spurs. They cant afford to make mistakes, and the four free throws killed them just like last year in game six. The other factor is Chris Bosh is actually hitting the big shots and playing well. Additionally, I would like to repeat Green is utter garbage for the Spurs. Unless he gets a wide-open look and that too off the pass, meaning he isnt creating the shot, hes utter garbage. Hes not setting any NBA record this year and I expect him to continue to be a non-factor for at least forty minutes a game. Hopefully the Spurs steal one in Miami and they do it with a definitive stamp. Parker looks exhausted.
