My hope is that the NFL might address this domestic violence issue in a very helpful way. The biggest need for abused women and their children in this country is the need for decent, safe and available safe havens to live in order to escape their abusers. Here in Philly, there are simply not enough beds and livable places for women and their children to escape. If the NFL committed to pay for the construction of such a facility in every city where there is an NFL team, they truly would have made an impact on this insidious problem. NFL, please think about this idea. You could really make a difference. You have the resources to make this happen.
