My husband and I were blessed with a trip to Vegas to see Justin Timberlakes final concert on his recent tour. We packed our bags for a quick trip, and I struggled just a teensy bit with finding the right outfit to wear to the concert. It had been 15 years since I had visited Vegas, and I was a different person, and 20 pounds lighter back then. When we arrived, we went to our rooms to freshen up and I quickly put on the outfit I had selected. I felt just a teensy bit insecure as I looked at my reflection and the size of my booty (sorry...I wasnt sure what term to use...butt, bum, rear, backside, tush.) I opted to exchange my insecurity for truth as I looked at my reflection and said, I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and walked away with a sense of spiritual victory swelling up inside me. We made our way across the street to the MGM Grand and enjoyed dinner. (When I say “enjoyed, I mean it; I didnt get hung up on my weight and whether or not I should avoid the chips with blue cheese sauce, or the beignets for dessert, I simply allowed my taste buds to enjoy the experience.) As dinner came to a close, we walked towards the theater for the concert. My husband and I walked hand in hand, making our way through the crowds of people who were headed in the same direction. I am not sure when my heart left the posture of spiritual victory that I had in the hotel room, but I suddenly became focused on all the women around me. They passed by wearing very short skirts which revealed their long, beautiful legs, low cut tops exposing their breasts, stiletto shoes complimenting their perfectly manicured toes, fashionable dresses clinging to their perfectly shaped bodies, (I was pretty sure these girls avoided the chips with blue cheese sauce I indulged in.)
