My husband was sharing a story with my kids that his Father told him as a child. I thought I would share... Have a little Spanish wisdom on this cold Friday. THE FIREFLY AND THE VIPER Legend has it that a snake persecuted a firefly with intent to devour it. The small insect did everything it could to scape its fate. Days went on this intense chase. The time came when the firefly could no longer keep at it, tired and exhausted, it stopped and spoke to the snake: Firefly: May I ask 3 questions? Viper: It is not in me to indulge others with answers but since I’m going to eat you any ways go ahead and ask! Firefly: 1st! Am I in your food chain? Viper: No! Firefly: 2nd! Have I done anything to you? Viper: No! Firefly: 3rd! Then why are you trying to eat me? Viper: Because you’re Bright and shiny, you GLOW! Moral of the story: In life, many times you’ll find yourself with people who are going to criticize, condemn and label, though youve never done anything to them and you may be as friendly person as can be. And all this is because like Firefly, you have your own glow, it illuminate your path and the path of many who roam the dark and close to you. You shine more than others, like a firefly in the night and that is hard to bear by other people, because they lack that inner light, that owned brilliance and shine that you possess, it hurts them causing… ENVY! They are ill, contaminated and only live in misery, always beware to spot them, to get away. Never stop being who you are, so that light will always illuminate you; although this may bothers those who live in total darkness.
