My inability to score has had a major effect on the team : Misbah-ul-Haq Pakistan captain spoke at end of 3rd ODI loss to Sri Lanka: We lost the way right at the beginning and kept on losing the momentum and were never able to recover from that We should have scored 240-250 which should have been a fighting score Nobody realized that this was a different pitch compared to other games and kept on playing shots and getting out The issue with my performance is not based on lack of fitness or loss of weight I had a 3 month gap in cricket and it appears that my 2 year dream run has come to an end but it does happen As a professional batsman, one has to adjust to all types of wickets and play accordingly Our fast bowlers were able to take wickets in ODIS and Tests with the new ball and that is a positive Also Fawad Alam and Sohaib Maqsood performed really well in the 1st ODI and that is great news for the future of the team Sarfraz Ahmeds batting was a revelation as was Wahab Riazs performance in Test and ODI matches We have to work on the basics as a batting unit to become more consistent We are very disappointed with the results of this series My inability to score has had a major effect on the team Pressure is part and parcel of the game as a captain but life has to go on and we need to address the issues for next games One cannot dwell on the past and we know what our weaknesses are and we need to fix those issues
