My insistence to fill fuel only at Shell landed me in trouble today. Late nights and early morning meant the Shell bunks enroute to office were shut and I was running on reserve for last few days. Ran out of fuel on the way home after an 19 hour work day. Had no option but to park my bike on IRR and start hiking home only to find a horrific accident between two cars 500 meters down the road with lots of cabbies pulled over. Continued walking only to have cops draw up and ask me about my bike and offer to drop me close to home when I told them it was out of fuel. Told them to attend to the accident and that I prefer to walk down. Refused three auto drivers who thought they had found a bakra to make easy money from and continued walking. Just wish I was wearing sports shoes instead of formal leather shoes. Walking down four kilometers in the dead of the night at 1:30 am was a different kind of experience. Not feeling sleepy in spite of the punishing schedule. Got to get up early to lug fuel and get my baby back home. Ah life!! I love you.
