My intent was to go for a manicure at first but with all the hoopla amongst family and friends about the new Harolds Chicken #57 in Galewood/Oak Park area. I observed the traffic from my chair in the nail shop and then one of the techs went next door and picked up an order of wings. She said they were good. I went over there. The floor was clean, there were a couple of customers ahead of me but not crowded at all. I also eavesdropped on a conversation between a customer and possibly an owner/manager regarding wait times and such. Anyhow, I ordered wings six of them to share. As I stated before the wait time was not bad at all. So I get my order, it looks fine and tasted really fresh. Overall, the establishment was clean, the wait time was reasonable considering they are touting that the food is made to order/fresh, the management seemed concerned about the customer experience. They only accept CASH at this point which is fine for now. Now the only thing that sent off an alarm was the demeanor of the cashier. Lackluster, no Welcome to Harolds can I take your order, what would you like.... just a blank stare. Hmmm maybe stage fright. We got through it though. I would go again but not very often as I limit fried food intake.
