My kiddos are just now reaching the marriageable age. God-willing, the timing will be ideal, but the how-tos of finding a spouse without compromising purity often baffle me! I really enjoyed this article. We have not pushed actual courtship, but we do believe that until the young people involved are genuinely ready in the sense that they can support themselves and have proven character, they should NOT be considering serious romantic relationships and because the dating activities in modern America are so flawed, we have discouraged dating. This article expresses some of the courtship concerns I have had, identifies failures of courtship, still acknowledges the desire to be pure and chaste, AND gives very practical advice. I am willing to have this discussion. Does anyone else want to discuss it? If so, I would rather it be understood that the assumption is that the gospel of Jesus Christ comes first, always! No need to comment if the ideas and perspectives are inherently anti-Christian. If you dont think and live a Bible based life, please, refrain from sharing. I respect the right of others to have their opinions. Let us make it a mutually respectful conversation.
